Artist to Watch Tiara
My friend, Monica just hipped me to this girl. She is so talented. I will be posting more about her. She has her own unique style. She plays the guitar and does some rap, but she has a beautiful singing voice. She works with Wale. She suppose to have an EP out soon.
Classic CDs Aaliyah's One in a Million
Aaliyah's One in a Million changed the game, and no one saw it coming! First a majority of the production was done by Missy Elliot and Timbaland, but they were not well known at the time. This pairing produced a sound that was unheard of and created three superstars in the process. The CD went on to sell 10 million copies worldwide. The thing about Aaliyah is that she was young,but they the music was mature and bold. It did not play to her being so young, and that was the genius move. The CD was well produced from beginning to the end.

Perfect songs- Stronger Than Pride-Sade
Stronger Than Pride is a song that has held up through the years. I like to classify as a perfect song. A song that strikes the right chord of emotion, lyric and timing. Some songs come out at the right time and they are able to capture your heart and keep it there forever. That is the definition of a perfect song. Sade's voice combined with the beautiful lyrics and melody melt my heart every time I hear it.
It speaks of love and lost. The song speaks of about the human emotion of trying to fight your feelings but surrender in the invertible like damn "Love is Stronger Than Pride". Bravo bravo bravo Sade.

Jody Watley CD -Classic
Jody Watley's Jody Watley CD is a classic R and B gem. It was released over 25 years ago(funny how time flies), but it still holds up. The CD from beginning to end is a dance masterpiece. There are not a lot of CDs I bought from high school that I can still enjoy playing. I mean I am not blasting 2 Live Crew anymore. This is CD is in good company. I just wanted to give Ms. Jody a shout out cause I was playing it just this week and it is still a thrill.

Beyonce used to be about woman empowerment, with songs like independent Women, and Run The World. Now, she is out here calling other women the "B"word. No,it does not work. Next, she was ,for the most part, humble with all her success and not prideful. She was always grateful to God and thanked God for what she achieved. Now, you want other women to bow down to her like she is God. I'm good,Beyonce thank you. The song is disrespectful on so many levels.

Some groups in music are simply overlooked,but should not have been. One group from the
90's was Questionmark Asylum. They only came out with one CD, that I know of. I got it in the 99cent bin at a record store when I was in college,butI still play that CD to this day. It is what I miss in today's rap. It had heart, heart hooks and humor. Here is one of my favorite tracks from that CD.

Long waits
I do not like to wait for my favorite artists to come out with new music. I also do not like waiting months after I hear a single. There was a time in music where two weeks after you heard a song on the radio the cd would come out.
Those times are gone.The music industry has changed and the stakes are high. Release dates are often pushed back months to a year based on how well the single does. There have been CDs that have been canceled because the lack of buzz. Ashanti recntly went through this,but her new cd drops soon.
